Certificate II in Hospitality (SIT20207)

This qualification is part of the Hospitality Training Package. It is for people employed in the hospitality industry or who want to work at the operations level in a range of hospitality establishments including fast food outlets, coffee shops, take-away facilities, restaurants, function centres, hotels, clubs and casinos. You will learn about the hospitality industry and will develop your customer service and communication skills relevant to the functional area and vocational outcome selected. You will also learn how to present yourself for work in this industry.

Six elective units are to be undertaken. The specific units will be determined according to delivery mode or employment requirements.

Course Duration

1. Traineeship - this program is delivered over a period of up to 36 months.

2. Distance Learning - up to 12 months (this mode of delivery is self paced).

Recognition of Prior Learning/Exemptions

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) can be attained in a number of ways. This includes any combination of formal or informal training and education, work experiences or general life experience.

To gain RPL, our assessors must be confident that you are currently competent against the endorsed industry competency standards or outcomes in accredited courses. The evidence may take a variety of forms and can include relevant work experience, formal qualifications, references from past or present employers, testimonials from clients and work samples.
