Certificate IV in Business (BSB40207)

This qualification forms part of the Business Services Training Package. It identifies the main functions in a business, explains how they contribute to organisational objectives and teaches skills needed to work within these functions. This course is for people with little or no business experience who are considering employment choice in a wide range of industries at entry level.

Nine elective units are to be undertaken. The specific units will be determined according to delivery mode or employment requirements.

Course Duration

1. Traineeship - this program is delivered over a period of up to 36 months.

2. Distance Learning - up to 12 months (this mode of delivery is self paced).

Entry Level

Preferred pathways for entry into this qualification are:

after achieving the BSB30107 Certificate III in Business or other relevant qualification; or

providing evidence of competency in the majority of units required for the BSB30107 Certificate III in Business or otherrelevant qualifications; or

with some vocational experience assisting in a range of environments providing administrative or operational support to individuals and/or teams but without a formal business qualifications

Recognition of Prior Learning/Exemptions

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) can be attained in a number of ways. This includes any combination of formal or informal training and education, work experiences or general life experience.

To gain RPL, our assessors must be confident that you are currently competent against the endorsed industry competency standards or outcomes in accredited courses. The evidence may take a variety of forms and can include formal qualifications, references from past or present employers, testimonials from clients and work samples.
