Certificate IV in Human Resources (BSB41007)

This course is part of the Business Services Training Package and is designed to provide a broad grounding in workplace skills and knowledge of human resource operations. The Certificate is for people working in an administration function with some human resource speciality, for example, reception, clerical work or payroll in human resource development. A significant understanding of legislation associated with human resources is expected in order to make decisions.

Six elective units are to be undertaken. The specific units will be determined according to delivery mode or employment requirements.

Course Duration


Traineeship - this program is delivered over a period of up to 36 months.
Distance Learning - up to 12 months (this mode of delivery is self paced).

Entry Level

Preferred pathways for entry into this qualification are:

after achieving the BSB30107 Certificate III in Business or other relevant qualifications; or

with some vocational experience in assisting human resource team leaders, supervisors or managers in their work but without formal human resource qualifications.

Recognition of Prior Learning/Exemptions

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) can be attained in a number of ways. This includes any combination of formal or informal training and education, work experiences or general life experience.

To gain RPL, our assessors must be confident that you are currently competent against the endorsed industry competency standards or outcomes in accredited courses. The evidence may take a variety of forms and can include formal qualifications, references from past or present employers, testimonials from clients and work samples.
